Guarded Tongue

Tuesday, May 23rd, 2023 Devotional Topic: Guarded Tongue Text:Col 4: 5-6, Eph 4:29-32 Col 4:6 Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone. Eph 4:29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. Titilayo had this habit of insulting people around her, not always intentionally. She was not aware it was hurtful, and not everyone will take it as a joke as she does.   A day came, she was chatting with her friends and all she did was exaggerate the incident with unwholesome talk, not knowing the sister to whom she was referring was in their midst. This broke the girl and led to a big fight between them. 'Think twice before you talk' cannot be overemphasized. The Bible teaches us not to let any unwholesome talk slip out from our mouths, but only things that are helpful. Eph 4:29 At times when you a...

GOD'S PRESENCE PUSHES THE ENEMY BACKWARD....your victory is fully guaranteed

Tuesday, May 16th, 2023 Devotional Topic: GOD'S PRESENCE PUSHES THE ENEMY BACKWARD Text:Joshua 3:16; Psalm 114:1-7 When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language, Judah became His sanctuary, and Israel His dominion (Psalm 114:1-2). The road to achieving great things in life is not always easy. It is sometimes filled up with debris; sometimes with unseen imagery of fear and discouragement. In such situations, it is only God's presence that can get one going. The Red Sea, Jordan, and Jericho wall, all moved back or fell before God's people because they had become the sanctuary and dominion of God. The enemies flee before you, not because you have any skill to outwit them, but because they see God with you. He is the Man of war (Exod. 15:3; Psa. 24:7-9). The enemy might be evil thoughts, sin, strange and wicked people around, taking the ungodly, unprofitable step that can negatively affect you, etc. Do you know Satan instigated ...

HE WILL BE TO YOU A GOD...'christ is for all regardless of religion'

Thursday, May 11th, 2023 Devotional.  Topic: He will be to you 'a God' Text: Hebrews 8:7-13  Heb 8:10 This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after that time, declares the Lord. I will put my laws in their minds and write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people. Though Christ is for all(regardless of religion) that is in the world, whomever He will be a God to must be ready to accept His LORDSHIP(Hebrews 8:10). If he be to you a God, you will be his people, a special purchased person, a royal priesthood, a peculiar person and a chosen generation of his.  Simbi is a young lady who grew up without much knowledge of who God is, she really wasn't the type that loved to be with people, she hated herself and planned to live a more sinful life when she finally gets her freedom(stops living under her parents' roof). God so good, when she got her freedom, she happened to join one of the prayer meetings held by some of h...

God discipines his Sons...God disciplines us for our good

Tuesday, May 2nd, 2023 Devotional Topic: God disciplines his son Text:Hebrews 12:1-13 Heb 12:10 Our fathers disciplined us for a little while as they thought best, but God disciplines us for our good, that we may share in his holiness. Heb12:6 Because the Lord disciplines those he loves, he punishes everyone he accepts as a son. David used a stone to write on his dad's car, when his dad got to know his dad disciplined him, there he got to know he was mistaken and did not do it again. He felt a sense of relief when his father disciplines him. At least he will no longer be scared of the punishment given to him because of his offense since he had already been disciplined.  If an earthly father can discipline his child for correction, how much more should we submit to our heavenly father vs9       Since God is everywhere, and he sees all we do, even our thought and our actions, l avoid and run from anything that looks sinful, so as not to attract wrath. ...
