FORGIVENESS... your heavenly Father will also forgive you

Text: Matthew 6:14-15 and Matthew 18: 20-21
Matthew 6:14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
15. But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
Matthew 18:20 Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Till seven times?
21 Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.
Forgiveness is simply the act of pardoning and letting go of someone who has wronged you, regardless of whether they deserve it or not.
Forgiveness is one of the great acts God showed unto us as mankind, He forgave us all our sins and brought us into his marvelous light. We didn't deserve it, neither were we worthy of receiving His forgiveness, but He let go of it all.
He then wants us (His children) to live out this act of His to everyone around us. People will offend us, but we should always rely on the Holy Spirit to help us to have a forgiving heart at all times.
Jesus told Peter, we're to forgive not seven times but until seventy times seven. He also taught them to forgive others, just as God has forgiven them.
It is essential for us to possess a forgiving spirit. Whether people deserve our forgiveness, let's always learn to forgive. Let's live the lifestyle of our father.
Prayer: Father help me to have a forgiving spirit at all times, help me to live out this attribute of yours to all those around me.
