GREEDINESS: ROBBER OF LIFE...As believers..we must endeavor not to succumb to the will of the flesh by Faithfulness II NDGw

Thursday, 23rd of February 2023 devotion. 
Topic: Greediness: robber of life. 
Text: Proverbs 1: 18-19.
 _"18 - But not these people! They set an ambush for themselves; they booby-trap their own lives! (NLT)._
         _"19 - Such is the fate of all who are greedy for gain. It ends up robbing them of life. (NLT)._

 Greediness isn't to be desired at all because the end of it is self-affliction, what one thinks would be gained would end up being less and nothing to be compared to the afflictions that one who indulges in it would end up with. 

(2 kings 5:9–27) Gehazi, Elisha's servant, met with his Waterloo when he allowed greediness to take over him. His inability to control his greed finally robbed him of the ability to ever walk again. 

As believers, diverse temptations will come our way, including greediness(a desire for what is not ours) we must endeavor not to succumb to the will of the flesh with the help of the Word of God. 

The Word is a light unto our ways, revealing the life of God in us and so, it will strengthen us and help us to overcome greediness. 

 Prayer
Heavenly Father and Lord, we pray that you help our hearts not be greedy and help out the flesh to disdain temptations of greediness. Amen

With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints. Vs 18 Itan is the prayer cord in his fellowship, a very fervent Christian brother, he has a place prepared for him by God.  Itan almost lost it when an opposite-sex coursemate visited him in his hostel freeing offering herself an unsolicited order.
