Be a peacemaker

Text:Matt5:9, Romans 12:14-21

"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God"

Romans 12:18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.

Shayo had 4 roommates, one of her roommates bears Titi, Titi has a friend who comes to their room on regular basis to get stuff from Titi. Everything was going fine until Titi's friend chose not to greet shayo and her other roommate. Angry Shayo's roommate beefed  Titi's friend.

On a fateful morning, Titi's friend came as usual, Shayo took it upon herself to interrogate Titi's friend and her response was she stopped greeting when everyone in the room do not respond to her greeting when she comes around.

So we too, should be peacemakers, not peace breakers. Rom12:14-21 urge us to be peacemakers.

14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. 

15 Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.

 16 Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low positions. Do not be conceited.

17 Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone.

 18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.

 19 Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord.

 20 On the contrary: “If your enemy is hungry, feed him;

    if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.”

21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

How Can I be a peacemaker and be peaceful person

1. Take responsibility for reconciliation

2. Cultivate a gentle spirit

3. Be patient with others and yourself

4. Listen more than you speak

5. Reflect your thought: Think before you act 

6. Be tolerant.

Remember, where there is peace, there is happiness ☺️ 

Prayer: Lord help me to live in peace and be a peacemaker 🙏🏿
