BEING SUCCESSFUL AS A CHRISTIAN by peace NGD
TEXT:2 chronicle 15:1-9
But you, take courage! Do not let your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded.
Catch them young as they say.
I remembered a time a speaker came
for an enlightenment program and he said:” You see, I'm scared of you younger generations because I don't know where you are going, but you've seen all I can be”.
As younger generations there are chances to make things right again, we aren't too young to make better decisions for ourselves with the help of the Holy Spirit. Some are comfortable in their mediocrity and refuse to change, perhaps they've given up on life.
In the scripture reading above, the word of the Lord came to king Asa in vs. 7 and he purged idolatry and the lord rewarded him. Likewise as Christians what is that problem or business risk you are afraid to face or take, Vs 7 is talking to you or perhaps sins around you, you're afraid to purge.
How to be successful as a Christian:
Pray and have faith: Apostle Paul commanded us pray without ceasing, Jesus commanded us
Unlearn and relearn: In life, we would pass through different phases and a new and convenient approach will be used to solve the problem, we need to unlearn old or wrong approach and learn it in a new way
Save: As Christians we should save for raining days not by hoarding what is meant to be given out or spent on important needs, but saving to avoid impulse spending Prov 21:20
The wise store up choice food and olive oil, but the fools gulp theirs down.
Give:give your tithe regularly and be generous in giving to the needy
Prov 22:9
The generous will themselves be blessed, for they share their food with the poor.
Like 6:38 Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."
Invest: As wise Christian we should invest wisely to profitable deals not in bet, Ponzi schemes or quick wealth offer. The truth is no legitimate investment will give 100% cash back in a short investment period.
In Matthew 25, Jesus gives the parable of the talents. A rich man delegates his wealth to his servants before he leaves on a journey. He gives five talents to the first, two to the second, and one to the third. Both the first servant and the second servant invest their talents, earning 100% returns on what they had been given. To both of these, the rich man says, “well done.” However, the rich man calls the third servant, who hid the talent and returned with only what he had been given,
Be blameless, avoid sins and do not heed to temptations
Phi 2:14 Do everything without complaining or arguing,
Phi 2:15 so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe
Avoid debt: Though debt is 5% unavoidable but we should try not to be in debt we can't pay back
Debt=slavery
Prov 22: 26-27
Do not be one who shakes hands in pledge or put up security for debts;
If you lack the means to pay, your very bed will be snatched from under you.
Remember, successful Christians did not happen in a day.
Prayer: Lord help me to be successful as a Christian and bless everything I lay my hands on๐๐ฟ
